I wanted to pour my heart out, mostly to you
I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and it flowed
it was like a river, because oceans don't flow
they wave and roll and undulate at their own pace
I had words they were eloquent and touching
this process went on for hours, until I was spent
upon inspecting what I wrote there were only
three words written down- I'm sorry.
not for something that I. or you or we had done
but mostly for all of the things we hadn't and
probably never would, life is disappointing like
that sometimes, in fact it is a real motherfucker.
